LUNYEE 4040 Titan CNC Router: Complete Assembly and Installation Guide
Setting up the LUNYEE 4040 Titan CNC Router correctly is an important first step toward smooth and reliable operation. Proper assembly helps ensure that the machine is stable, the moving components are securely installed, and the spindle and electrical connections are ready for use.
This guide walks through the main assembly process for the LUNYEE 4040 Titan, from preparing the installation area to assembling the X-axis module, installing the spindle and dust shoe, connecting the control box, and completing the initial controller setup.
Before You Start
Before beginning assembly, prepare a suitable workspace and make sure all necessary tools are available.
Prepare the Installation Area
The assembled LUNYEE 4040 Titan measures approximately 624 × 645 × 446 mm. Leave at least 100 mm of open space around the machine for ventilation, especially around the control box and spindle. Avoid placing the machine directly against a wall or blocking any ventilation openings.
Place the machine on a level and stable workbench with a load capacity of at least 50 kg. A sturdy metal workbench or thick solid-wood table is recommended. A stable working surface helps reduce vibration during machining.
Before connecting the machine to power, make sure the wall outlet is properly grounded and that the machine's voltage selector matches the available power supply, either 110 VAC or 220 VAC.
Tools You Will Need
The assembly kit includes the required hex wrenches. You should also prepare:
lHex wrench set, including M3, M5, and M6 sizes
lCompact spirit level for checking the workbench and machine level
lFine-tip marker for marking component orientation if needed
lLint-free cleaning cloth for removing dust or oil from component surfaces
l14 mm and 17 mm open-end wrenches for spindle tool installation
A pair of gloves is optional and can be used to help protect the machine surfaces during assembly.
Step 1: Install the X-Axis Module
The first major assembly step is installing the X-axis module onto the Y-axis module platform.
Position the X-Axis Module
Place the Y-axis module platform on a stable workbench with the motor facing toward the rear of the machine.
Stand the X-axis module upright and carefully position it between the two side slots of the Y-axis module platform.
Make sure both sides of the X-axis module are fully inserted into the corresponding slots before releasing it.
Important: Hold the X-axis module securely during this step. If it is not fully seated, the module may fall or shift during assembly.
Secure the X-Axis Module
Once the X-axis module is correctly positioned, use the included #4 hex wrench to install the eight M5 × 16 socket head cap screws.
Tighten the screws securely through the side mounting holes.
After tightening, gently check the X-axis module by hand. It should remain firmly in place without excessive movement or wobble.

Step 2: Install the Spindle Tool
Before mounting the spindle to the machine, install the cutting tool.
Place the spindle and cutting tool on a stable surface. Use the included 14 mm and 17 mm open-end wrenches to install the cutting tool into the spindle.
Turn the two wrenches in opposite directions to tighten the tool securely.
The same wrench combination is used when replacing the cutting tool later.
Important: Always make sure the tool nut is securely tightened before machining. An improperly tightened tool can loosen or fall during operation and create a safety hazard.

Step 3: Install the Spindle Clamp
The LUNYEE 4040 Titan uses a φ55 spindle clamp to secure the spindle to the Z-axis assembly.
Prepare the Spindle Clamp
Prepare the following components:
lφ55 spindle clamp
lFour M6 × 60 socket head cap screws
lFour M6 flat washers
l#5 hex wrench
lPreviously assembled spindle and cutting tool
Position the clamp, washers, screws, and spindle according to the installation orientation shown in the assembly diagram.
Mount the Spindle
Position the assembled spindle and clamp against the corresponding mounting holes on the Z-axis assembly.
Use the #5 hex wrench to tighten the four M6 × 60 screws.
Before fully tightening the screws, check the spacing on the left and right sides of the clamp. The gaps should be approximately equal so that the spindle is held evenly.
Also check the spindle's vertical position. The height of the red frame shown in the assembly reference should not exceed 20 mm.
Once the position has been confirmed, tighten the screws securely.

|
|
Step 4: Install the Clamping Plates
The included clamping plates can be installed directly into the grooves on the machine's base plate.
Take out the four clamping plate sets and insert them into the corresponding grooves at the positions shown in the assembly diagram.
These plates can be positioned according to the size and location of the workpiece during machining.

|
|
Step 5: Install the Spindle Dust Shoe
The spindle dust shoe helps collect chips and dust during machining.
Open the handle on the dust shoe and fit the dust shoe onto the end of the spindle in the correct orientation.
Once it is fully seated, press the handle firmly to secure the dust shoe in place.
Check that the dust shoe is properly attached before starting a machining job.

|
|
Step 6: Install the Electrical Control Box
The electrical control box is installed on the right side of the machine.
Install the Antenna
Attach the antenna to the designated connector on the electrical control box.
Make sure the antenna is securely installed before operating the machine.
Position the Control Box and Connect the Cables
Place the electrical control box on the right side of the machine.
Connect the corresponding cables to their matching connectors according to the labels and wiring diagram.
Before powering on the machine, check that all connectors are fully inserted and that the cables are arranged neatly without excessive tension.
|
|
|
Step 7: Connect and Secure the Cables
Correct cable routing is important for reliable machine operation and safe movement of the machine's moving components.
Connect the main power supply, spindle plug, spindle interlock, and tool-setting cable according to the connection diagram.
Pay particular attention to the cable harnesses connected to the terminal area. Insert the short wire harness into the lower terminal and the long wire harness into the upper terminal, as shown in the installation diagram.
After connecting the cables:
1. Make sure each connector is fully inserted.
2. Check that cables are not loose or under excessive tension.
3. Keep cables away from moving components where possible.
4. Make sure cables are not crossing in a way that could interfere with machine movement.
5. Check the terminal area carefully before applying power.
Step 8: Level and Inspect the Machine
Before starting the first machining job, perform a basic mechanical inspection.
Use a spirit level to check that the workbench is stable and reasonably level.
Then check the assembled machine:
lConfirm that the X-axis module is securely fastened.
lCheck that the spindle clamp is evenly tightened.
lMake sure the spindle is securely mounted.
lConfirm that the dust shoe is properly attached.
lCheck that all clamping plates are correctly installed.
lMake sure all electrical connectors are fully connected.
lConfirm that the power supply voltage matches the machine setting.
lMake sure the ventilation space around the machine remains unobstructed.
Manually check the machine's moving components for unusual resistance or interference before powering on.
Step 9: Set Up the Offline Controller
After the mechanical assembly and wiring are complete, the offline controller can be used to perform basic machine operations. The controller interface provides intuitive touchscreen access across multiple menus for coordinate management, tool calibration, file execution, and system configuration:
