Sales case: 4040 laser engraving machine for woodworking store

Client Background

John opened a local woodworking store specializing in custom picture frames, commercial signs and other decorative woodwork projects. He started the business five years ago and has expanded it over time. However, as the needs of his business continued to grow, he realized that his existing manufacturing methods were no longer able to meet the demands of larger orders. He needed more efficient, faster methods to help him handle the growing volume of business.


Due to the small number of previous projects, John mostly uses handmade pieces, while taking a machine-assisted approach to production. However, it is extremely labor intensive for John to cut and finish each piece using hand tools such as vertical saws, rotary tools and sanders. Intricate patterns take hours to complete by hand. This limited the number of products he could produce to order and prevented him from expanding to meet the needs of larger commercial customers. John needed a faster, more accurate solution that would significantly increase the amount of projects completed while maintaining quality standards.


After many conversations, we learned that there was a limit to the footprint of the machine due to space constraints at the site. Based on John's previous projects, we determined that a 40*40cm working area would both meet his project needs and allow his store to accommodate the machine. The laser engraving machine is capable of working with a wide range of wood materials including MDF, plywood, MDF and some plastics, including almost every material material John needs to work with in the course of his work.

Upon receiving the 4040, John was able to immediately move away from manual cutting methods. He found that patterns that used to take over five hours to complete by hand could now be completed in less than an hour using the laser system. Additionally, the quality and consistency of projects processed with the C14040 laser engraver has improved compared to the variability of working by hand.
